Day 4812 August 2026

Amelia P., “row Amy, row Ran…”, 🎣 fish

on July 18, Amelia P’s captain Ian Roberts tracked us down on AIS, took the sail down and visited with us. It turns out they sailed from Halifax to England but then decided to sail north to Scotland due to bad weather.

At that time, we did not quite know yet a few days ahead of us a big storm would move in right on our path.

I was curious about the story behind Amelia P. It’s Captain Ian’s granddaughter’s name! I love the name Amelia as it reminded me of the legend Amelia Erhart! Hope Amelia P. enjoyed the voyage and has landed safely in Scotland! That was our second boat we saw since we left Newfoundland Canada! It’s so cool to meet very nice people.

The “Row Amy Row Ran” lyrics and rhythm from the album“Bound for England” kept us going and going east! It’s a working day, and we hope to shave a few nm. 327 nm to go as of UTC 1600!

Whales are back, so as many other wildlife. Some fish jump into our boat last night while I was rowing. I cannot see them, but I can smell them! We found two this morning in the gunner. Does anyone know what name of this fish (see photo)?
