the sun was covered by the clouds when the partial eclipse occurred from where I was: the sky went dark for a few seconds and then lit up again. The video is kind of boring as it does not show the bright sun covered by the moon as many showed on SM. I was alone rowing on deck when that happened. Al I was thinking is what happened to the sea level since the sun and moon were lined up which may pull the water to form some kind of big swells. Guess what, there was a small swell, no worries.
At 1am, I stepped out of my stern cabin. The first thing I heard was, “another oar is gone!” …”the oar lock was not locked, and the wave took it when I was drinking water…”. Ran said slowly. I can tell he was tired…. Obviously he was not waiting for anything negative. So, nothing really can change what had happened. “I’m glad you did not get hurt.” That was it! We now have three oars! I don’t think I’ll make one in my LAB! We just row one at a time! And there is no need for that new “foot stretcher” I made yesterday… things happen, and we move forward, to the east!!! Bound for England!
A second call came from Ran was to ask for a decision to use para anchor. He must have seen my facial reaction, let’s fight it. It was my shift in 1/2 hr anyway. So, we exchanged the shift as quickly as possible and managed to ignore the para anchor. The reward is within an hour, the wind switched and came behind us!!! Great day so far.
